Misti Spencer is EAF’s Director of Development & Partnerships. She leads fundraising, develops partnerships and works with community supporters to expand opportunities for survivors of human trafficking and young adults aging out of foster care.
She also coaches and mentors clients, drawing on her professional background and lived experience to help people build confidence, stability and greater independence.
Building relationships that support EAF’s work
Misti brings experience in business development, relationship building, coaching, mentoring and advocacy. At EAF, she strengthens relationships with corporate, nonprofit, educational and community partners, advances funding opportunities and expands the Foundation’s network of supporters.
Education and survivor advocacy
Misti holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida. She is an advisory board member for UCF’s Center for the Study of Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, contributes to the university’s human-trafficking curriculum and has supported its Dream Job Bootcamp.
Through speaking, education and community partnerships, she works to ensure that lived experience informs how organizations and communities understand and respond to exploitation and trafficking.
An author and speaker, Misti wrote Drinking Beauty and the Seven Narcissists: A Musical Journey, a memoir about trauma, healing and survival. Her community work has been recognized with the 2025 Carol Welker Volunteer of the Year Award at the Polaris Star Awards and the 2025 NAWIC Jo Ann Golden Humanitarian Award.
